Job description
- To inspect components for discontinuities to prescribed specifications and keep log up to date.
- Maintain NDT equipment and standards in line with the international, Cosworth and customer requirements.
- In addition to the above, the NDT inspector will be expected to fulfil any other reasonable requirements consistent with departmental objectives.
- Maintain consumables levels.
- Keep personal qualifications including eye tests up to date.
- Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
Requirements
- NDT Level 2 qualification to EN4179 / NAS 410 for ET (Eddy Current) or UT (Ultrasonic).
- Having both method is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience and qualification for PT and/or MT is an advantage.
- Willingness to work a shift pattern.
Note: Level 1 certified candidates will be considered.
- Able to exercise technical judgement, using sound engineering principles and appropriate experience.
- Effective in planning, management, and implementation of NDT activities.
- Familiar with following and using quality systems and procedures.
- Understand and take account of technical, commercial, and competitive factors that characterize the business.
- Able to select and deliver technical and company information for effective internal and external communication.
- Personal and professional integrity and responsible attitude to the requirements within a manufacturing and engineering environment.
- Able to interact with others to operate effectively within team activities.
Desirable experience and skills:
- Experience of other NDT methods as L1 or L2.
- Experience in UT Phased array and/or UT Immersion.
- Experience with ET automated inspection [C-scan]
- Computer literate in Microsoft office.
- A good understanding of NDT International standards.
- A good understanding of Quality Standards AS9100 and IS09001.
- Experience in Aircraft Engine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul
