Job description

The Materials Planning Leader is responsible for leading the Materials Planning team and ensuring material availability to support production execution and business priorities. This role combines strong operational planning experience with team leadership, prioritization, problem solving, and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and support the daily work of the Materials Planning team.
  • Set priorities and provide clear directions to ensure effective execution.
  • Build team capability by coaching and developing employees in their daily responsibilities and in the practical application of all FLIGHT DECK fundamentals.
  • Own and drive performance across material-related SQDIP KPIs, ensuring appropriate actions, follow-up, and escalation to support business results.
  • Ensure material availability in line with production requirements and business needs.
  • Manage material escalations with the GE Delivery Team and LEAP Product Line.
  • Monitor shortages, delivery risks, and ensure timely escalation when needed.
  • Partner with quality, logistics, engineering and operations to resolve material-related challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement in material planning processes and team effectiveness.
  • Ensure data accuracy and appropriate system oversight across the visual material shortage tool, SAP master data, and MRO Fulfilment Operations Advisor (MOA).
  • Act as the first level of support and escalation for the team in day-to-day operational matters.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant experience in materials planning, supply chain or purchasing.
  • Previous experience in a Specialist or Senior Specialist role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead daily execution, coordinate priorities, and support team performance in an operational environment.
  • Experience working across functions and driving resolution of material issues through effective stakeholder management.
  • Communicative in English B2 or C1
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong ownership and execution focus.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in the aviation industry or a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP / ERP systems.
  • Experience supporting team development, mentoring, or coordinating the work of others.
  • Understanding of requirements related to certified aviation materials.
  • Experience in process improvement and operational excellence.
