Job description
- Point of escalation for SQDC while ensuring compliance standards are met within business unit by all team members.
- Safety: Strategically planning safety initiatives and Continuous Improvement on safety framework. Drive temporary and permanent countermeasures through cross-functional collaboration with a high level of urgency.
- Quality: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine business unit quality metrics. Accountable for quality metrics by engaging and coaching shop floor. Responsible for driving the reduction in cost of poor quality.
- Delivery: Determine strategic vision based on customer demand to ensure soft and hard capacity requirements are in place for the next 1-3 years including new product introductions. Monitor and measure delivery performance through daily management, identify opportunity for improvement to meet on-time delivery targets. Responsible for maintaining readiness, technical ability, and regulatory requirements to ensure delivery within business unit. collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine business unit delivery metrics. Accountable for delivery metrics by proactively engaging and coaching shop floor.
- Cost: Develop and drive strategy for reduction in operational expense through productivity and effective inventory management.
- FLIGHT DECK: Respect for people. Drive continuous improvement through problem solving continuum and ensuring a robust Kaizen funnel for Business Unit and collaborate with site Lean Leadership.
- Performance and People Leadership: Partnering with HR and Site Leader to make strategic recommendations for talent, headcount, and org structure. Expected to drive employee engagement and culture to positively impact a diverse and inclusive workforce, maximize retention.
- Financial: Partnering with Finance Leader and Plant Leader to create and ensure annual budget is met through effective management of capital expenditure and operational expenses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; a technical degree is preferred.
- Several years of experience in a leadership or managerial role within a manufacturing, operations, or industrial environment.
- Proven experience managing business performance based on SQDC metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
- Strong knowledge of safety, quality, delivery performance, and cost control within an operational environment.
- Experience in driving Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement / Kaizen / Problem Solving initiatives.
- Ability to define, track, and improve key operational performance indicators (KPIs).
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership, employee development, coaching, and engagement building.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams across Operations, Quality, HR, Finance, Lean, and Compliance.
- Experience in capacity and resource planning in the short and medium term; long-term planning and new product introduction experience is an advantage.
- Ability to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and drive sustainable operational improvements.
- Experience managing operating costs, budgets, productivity, and efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with daily management practices and a continuous improvement culture.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
