Job description
The Logistics Operator is responsible to ensure a reliable, smooth and cost efficient material and tool supply process to production. This process includes on time and process compliant acceptance, storage, picking, and physical delivery or shipping of the required materials/tools.
Main Responsibilities:
- Performs internal transportation of materials, tools, equipment, using forklifts/cranes or other transportation vehicles, when necessary
- Physically receives and handles incoming and outgoing engine deliveries/pick-ups and inbound and outbound materials, unloads and uploads vehicles, if required with forklift or crane
- Performs administration related tasks, like data entry in different IT systems (SAP, Excel), works closely together with material handling and tooling specialists/experts
- Labels and tags materials, separates appropriate material storage locations according to ownership, material type, and custom requirements
- Ensures timely picking, SAP issuing and physical material delivery of all open material requests from warehouses to production
- Collects unserviceable and returns serviceable materials and tools from production area to warehouse and vice versa
- Performs inventory counts
- Handles dangerous goods handling, knowing MSDS and relevant regulations.
- Take ownership of improving working area in accordance with the lean principles of flow, pull and Takt
- Responsible to clarify or escalate transport related issues on the interface to the material coordinator
- Organizes and performs material scrapping (if required), and updates the IT system with data of scrapped parts
- Coaches new colleagues and prepares them for working independently.
- Continuously monitors the quality of and follows the internal audit processes
Requirements
- Proven professional experience in warehouse logistics
- Forklift driving license
- Crane operator license would be an advantage
- Good knowledge of other logistics processes (purchasing, transport)
- Very good communication skills
- Team spirit, sense of responsibility and very good interpersonal skills
- Computer literate, preferably SAP knowledge
- Flexibility according to workload during the project phases
- Ability to generate new ideas and identify potential for improvement within his working area
- Good command of English language (both written and spoken)
